How to Lead a Person to Christ

Leading someone to Christ is the easiest thing...or it can be the hardest thing we are asked to do.
We often complicate the process by thinking that we need to prepare theological arguments about the nature of God, nature of evil, hell, atonement and more. Getting caught up in apologetics makes our explanation of the gospel often sound defensive and really complicated...and a bit like a sales job.

I have recently connected with Christi Penner-Worden whose passion is explaining Jesus to children.
Her gospel explanation has 3 points:
   1. God made you
   2. God has a plan for you
   3. Jesus is the only way

The first point speaks to identity - wondering who you are? who you are meant to be?
Jesus is the only way to really find out.

The second point speaks to purpose - wondering why you are? what are you supposed to be doing with your life? Jesus is the only way to find out.

I love the simplicity - kids get it, grownups get it.

The G2020 team got some training on how to share the gospel and lead a person to Christ. The model we learned before departing to Germany is the 3-Circle model. We were really encouraged and felt equipped to give anyone an answer for the hope that is in us (1 Pet 3:15)....not just in Germany, but in our everyday life.

Here is a 3 minute overview of the 3-Circle model...maybe it will inspire you too!

It was great to learn and pray together
