Fundraising
Raising funds is one of the least loved aspects of missionary work. I have yet to meet a missionary who loves to stand before people and ask them for money to support the mission work, or more specifically, the needs of the missionary. It is not difficult to ask people for money for someone else's work. To raise funds for a disaster in Haiti, or an orphanage in Africa...but to ask money so that you, personally, can travel to do mission work is hard. Our team rose up to the challenge and each of us asked...friends, relatives, and our church family. The Gifts of Sounds fundraiser was our last group effort to raise the remaining $3.3K we needed as a team.It was such a joy-filled evening! Erik was a great emcee and set a fun tone for us all. And the talent on stage was amazing! Piano, electric guitar, violin, flute, fiddles and Irish dancing and even Bollywood worship dancing...each performance was a gift! Two violins and a piano...treating us to Shostakovich ...
